On Friday, May 24, 2024, Kiesza releases her album Dancing & Crying: Vol. 1, the first of a series exploring the idea that the dancefloor is a place to release strong emotions – and suggesting that dance doesn’t provide an escape from self, but rather a connection to self. The record unites the past, present, and future of Kiesza’s music, and encompasses everything from folk to pop, from yodeling to house-music-with-a-banjo. After a car accident that completely changed her life, Kiesza has made the most vulnerable and authentic music of her career. A few days before it’s released, we invited her to discuss her creative process and her vision for the album.
