Ariane Roy wrote songs for a whole year, and then completely discarded them before arriving with the final results for her sophomore album, Dogue. Ultimately, she found her direction by changing the way she worked. She used her computer instead of her guitar and piano, and explored different rhythms and basslines. This radical change allowed her to discover new sounds, which she refined with co-musical-director Félix Petit. The result is an album of affirmation and permission: she’s given herself the right to be more direct, more raw, and also more danceable. In this video, she explains the creative process behind Dogue – an album with real bite.
