Everyone knows that Roxane Bruneau basically has a subscription to the No. 1 spot on radio charts in Québec. SOCAN was delighted to present her with not one, but four No. 1 Song Awards, in Gatineau, on June 13, 2024, just before her first of three performances at Salle Odyssée.

With the help of TVA Gatineau journalist Anabelle St-Pierre, SOCAN’s Sara Dendane, Creative and Partnerships Executive in Montréal, surprised Bruneau and Brisset with the awards during the filming of the interview.

The songs for which the creative duo was recognized – all for reaching No. 1 on the Top 100 Mediabase Francophone chart – are:

  • “Si jamais on me cherche,” on Dec. 7, 2021
  • “Partout,” on Feb. 5, 2021
  • “Le blanc des yeux,” on Aug. 22, 2023
  • “Une bouteille à la mer,” on May 12, 2024

All four songs are published by Les Éditions Musique Variole and Les Éditions Inspire.

We also took the opportunity to ask Bruneau and Brisset about the creative process behind their most recent hit, “Une bouteille à la mer,” in this Top Secrets video:
