SOCAN is pleased to invite eligible music publishers to apply now for the Publisher of the Year Award at the 2025 Gala SOCAN in Montréal.
This award celebrates and pays tribute to a SOCAN member who’s active in music publishing, and who makes a significant, positive contribution to the music industry and the creative community.
Eligibility Period
Only achievements within the eligibility period of Nov. 15, 2022, to Nov. 15, 2024, will be considered.
Eligibility Criteria
- Being a SOCAN publisher member
AND - A publisher based in Canada with a predominantly French-language catalogue.
OR - A publisher with a significant creative and commercial impact in the French-speaking world
Please note: Publishers with a representative on the selection committee are not eligible for this award.
Nomination
Nominations can be submitted by:
- The publisher itself, or
- Another publisher, or
- An active individual affiliated with the SOCAN office in Montréal.

Jury
All nominations will be assessed by a jury of music industry professionals. The jury will consider international, national, and local activities during the evaluation process.
Presentation of the Award
The Publisher of the Year Award will be presented at the 2025 Gala SOCAN, which will take place on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at La Tohu in Montréal.
Deadline
The deadline for submitting a nomination is March 6, 2025.
