The Société professionnelle des auteurs et compositeurs du Québec et des artistes entrepreneurs (SPACQ-AE) has just launched its new six-part podcast series, L envers du décor (Behind the Scenes). The podcast, hosted by singer-songwriter and artist-entrepreneur Mademoizelle Philippe, gives songwriters, composers, and artist-entrepreneurs the opportunity to express themselves on sensitive, personal, and important subjects, and to share their perspective on some of the real issues involved in their craft.
According to SPACQ, “the idea with this project is to share the conversations artists have in their dressing rooms, in the hope of inspiring and giving tools to other artists, but also to share with the general public the issues facing artists on the Québec music scene.”
The first episode of L’envers du décor is available now on Spotify and Apple Music. Mademoizelle Philippe welcomes Catherine Durand to discuss the theme of “aging in music,” in a very interesting conversation about a subject that’s all too often neglected.
A new episode will be posted each week until Oct. 15, 2024, and the topics will be extremely varied:
- “Transition(s),” with Adieu Narcisse, Sept. 17
- “Deuil public” (“Public Mourning,”), with Sarahmée, Sept. 24
- “Travailler en famille” (“Working with Family”), with Jérémie Corriveau, Oct. 1
- “Invalidité subite” (“Sudden Disability),” with Caracol, Oct. 8
- “Filet social” (“Social Safety Net”), with Éric Charland, Oct. 15
The podcast is available in French only.
