The next day, on Mar. 6, SOCAN marked a major milestone in style – celebrating its centennial with a vibrant L.A. “SOCAN Connections” networking event on the rooftop of an exclusive Hollywood club, The Aster. The evening gathered SOCAN members and industry peers to not only connect and collaborate, but to commemorate a century of supporting and empowering Canadian music creators.
With almost 200 in attendance, despite some rainy weather, the energy was electric, as artists, songwriters, composers, producers, music publishers, and industry professionals gathered to share stories, build new relationships, and celebrate SOCAN’s enduring legacy.
Connection events have always played a key role in fostering community among Canadians across borders, and this year’s edition was especially meaningful. Attendees were treated to an unforgettable evening of establishing new contacts, sharing ideas, and fostering potential collaborations. The event served as a powerful reminder of SOCAN’s mission to advocate for music creators, and build a thriving, inclusive creative community.
Throughout the weekend, SOCAN’s content team was also on the ground in L.A., capturing valuable educational content with established members. You’ll be able to find those videos soon on SOCAN Academy.
As SOCAN enters its second century, the organization remains deeply committed to supporting its members and championing their rights, voices, and visions.
