The new school year is just around the corner and it dovetails, as it does every year, with a diversified offer of training courses in the field of music, and particularly in publishing. The Association des professionnels de l’édition musicale (APEM) offers a very attractive program to help you perfect your knowledge of music publishing and get started in this key sector of the music ecosystem.
APEM offers a comprehensive 42-hour training course (in French only) that takes place over 10 weeks, with the objective of training new publishers, and promoting best practices in music publishing. Legal foundations, contracts and licenses, and the organization and artistic direction of a publishing company are only a few of the topics that will be discussed by publishing experts such as Daniel Lafrance, Me Claude Brunet, David Murphy, Valérie Gauthier, Marie-Laurence Asselin and Carmel Scurti-Belley.
The APEM training program will be held in person at the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ) in Montréal. The Winter 2023 session, though, will be dispensed online.
