Nelly Furtado will induct Sarah McLachlan at the 2024 Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame (CSHF) Induction Ceremony, at Massey Hall in Toronto, on Sept. 28, 2024. Inductees Tom Cochrane and Diane Tell will perform at the gala, as will multiple JUNO Award winner Lights, adding to the powerful lineup of artists set to play.
This year’s esteemed group of Hall of Fame inductees — all scheduled to perform — includes Tom Cochrane, Blue Rodeo’s Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, Sarah McLachlan, and Quebec singer-songwriter Diane Tell.
The aforementioned artists join previously announced performers AHI, Adam Baldwin, Brett Emmons (of The Glorious Sons), Dominique Fils-Aimé, La Zarra, Gary LeVox (of Rascal Flatts), Terra Lightfoot, Matt Mays, Metric, William Prince, Sam Roberts, Ariane Roy, Rafaëlle Roy, Dallas Smith, Tenille Townes, and Whitehorse. Multi-Platinum selling artist and television personality Marie-Mai wilkl host the ceremony, and presenters of the inductions include actor/comedian Pierre Brassard, longtime hockey broadcaster Ron MacLean, and member of Triumph Gil Moore.
For the first time ever, Amazon Music will exclusively stream the entire induction ceremony, and exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews, live via the Amazon Music channel on Twitch. The live stream broadcast intermission show, featuring exclusive artist interviews, will be hosted by JUNO Award-winning singer-songwriter and Canadian Screen Award-winning TV host, Keshia Chanté. The broadcast will be available globally to watch on Twitch on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 7:00pm E
The 2024 recipients of the Breakthrough Songwriter Award, presented by the CSHF and Amazon Music, are Aaron Paris and Fredz, recognized for their outstanding achievements as emerging songwriting stars. In addition to receiving a customized development plan by Amazon Music, which will include playlisting, high-profile songwriting sessions and camps, travel support, and access to international recording studio, Aaron Paris and Fredz will be recognized at the ceremony.
