Despite what their name might imply, Half Moon Run never take half measures and their EP Inwards & Onwards won the Montréal-based trio the Adult Alternative Album of the Year at this year’s JUNO Awards. This is their second win in that category after winning it for a first time in 2020 for their album A Blemish in the Great Light. This award arrives on top of the recent platinum certification for their single Full Circle and the gold for Grow Into Love.
We took the opportunity to speak with Dylan Phillips, a Francophile member of the trio, the day after their win to find out more about what this award means to them, the process of creating this EP, which was originally intended as an experiment in creative renewal for Half Moon Run, and a preview of the next album they are currently working on:
Half Moon Run will play several festivals this summer and they will perform the closing event at the Festival d’été de Québec on the Plains of Abraham on July 17th.
